Chase Lawe, MSW Intern

Hello! My name is Chase Lawe and I am a Master of Social Work (MSW) student intern currently completing my clinical training at Road To Wellness Therapy under the supervision of Janet (Bayramyan) Generales, LCSW. I am currently earning my Master of Social Work degree at Northern Arizona University's online program and expect to graduate with my MSW in July 2026. I am deeply committed to offering affirming, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care to individuals, children, and families. I am especially passionate about working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, survivors of trauma and domestic violence, individuals experiencing adjustment-related challenges, and those navigating the emotional and psychological impact of chronic illness. I believe therapy works best when clients feel safe, respected, and genuinely understood, and I strive to create a space where people can show up as their full selves-without judgment and at their own pace.

My approach is strengths-based and grounded in a person-in-environment perspective, which means I consider not only what someone is experiencing internally, but also how relationships, systems, identity, culture, and health shape their daily lives. In my work with LGBTQIA+ clients, I prioritize affirming and validating care that honors each person's identity and lived experience, while remaining mindful of the effects of minority stress, identity development, andsystemic barriers. I have enjoyed working with children and families the past 7 years in various hospital, school and mental health settings and believe strongly in the importance of attachment, communication, and connection. I support children and caregivers as they navigate emotional regulation, behavioral concerns, family transitions, and adjustment-related stressors, with a focus on strengthening relationships and fostering understanding within the family system.

When supporting individuals living with chronic illness, I hold space for the grief, frustration, and identity shifts that often accompany long-term health conditions. I aim to work collaboratively with clients to build coping strategies, develop self-compassion, and strengthen emotional resilience while honoring each person's lived experience. As a student intern, I value ongoing learning, reflection, and supervision, and I approach my work with curiosity, humility, and care. I see therapy as a collaborative process, and I feel honored to walk alongside clients as they work toward healing, growth, and meaningful change.

I was born and raised here in the San Fernando Valley and have just returned from being gone for the past 10 years. I am enjoying and looking forward to exploring Los Angeles and putting roots down, here in my hometown. On my time off, I enjoy attending hot yoga classes, spending quality time with my dog, Zander, and spending time with friends/family.
